david rea - Chief financial and operating officer

David Rea is the Chief Financial & Operating Officer at The AML Shop and is responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient operations of the company, in which the satisfaction of both customers and employees is paramount.  He has over 30 years of experience working with organizations of various sizes and geographies in strategic planning, governance, finance, operations, IT, HR and legal matters.  He holds an MBA from the University of Toronto and is a Chartered Professional Accountant of Ontario.

David's professional journey started with seven years in the Business Assurance group at Coopers & Lybrand (PwC), where he developed his initial technical finance and managerial skills.  After leaving the firm in 1999, he became the Director of Finance at Netcom Canada and added process, project and product management capabilities via his process owner responsibilities and as leader of integration initiatives following the merger with AT&T Canada.

After a four-year term as the head of finance for Bell Sympatico in the mid-2000s, David spent the next 20 years as CFO/COO of smaller growth companies (C5 Group, TELoIP and Security Compass) focused on preparing them to be able to scale profitably in a rapid, yet controlled manner.

David is a former Big Brother and also spends time mentoring start-up founders..
