Jr. IT Support Specialist
Job description
The AML Shop is a boutique consultancy full of accountants and compliance professionals — but don’t let that scare you off. We’re a dynamic team that works hard, laughs often, and knows that spreadsheets and good humour are not mutually exclusive.
We’re looking for a tech-savvy problem-solver with sharp attention to detail and the ability to stay cool when the Wi-Fi misbehaves. Reporting to our IT Manager, you’ll be the go-to for setting up PCs and devices, tackling basic troubleshooting, and pitching in on IT projects.
This role is flexible — full-time or part-time — and entirely remote. You’ll work in our cloud-based environment, keeping systems secure, efficient, and connected so our team can stay productive from anywhere. Your mission: make sure the digital magic never skips a beat.
The AML Shop is a fully remote working environment.
Term: 3 month fixed-term with possibility for extension
Anticipated start date: September 15th
Salary/ Rate: $23-25/hr
What the position entails:
Set up and configure PCs and mobile devices so they’re ready to shine from the very first click.
Enroll devices into the TAS environment and keep them compliant, secure, and well-behaved.
Troubleshoot everyday tech hiccups — pass the true head-scratchers to the specialists.
Keep security tight with timely updates, fixes, and preventative measures.
Onboard new team members like a pro — their first impression of IT should be “Wow.”
Roll out devices, refresh equipment, and pitch in on IT projects that keep us future-ready.
Log your work and update asset inventories without skipping a beat.
Keep your team in the loop with progress, blockers, and wins.
Maintain a secure, organized workspace — both physical and virtual.
What will you need to succeed?
Preferred: 1–2 years of IT support or help desk experience — you’ve been in the trenches and lived to tell the tale.
Preferred: Understanding of mobile device management — no, it’s not about keeping your phone from sliding off the desk.
Preferred: Customer service skills — because sometimes the real fix is helping someone breathe through the panic.
Know your way around Windows OS and the guts of a PC.
Familiar with Microsoft 365 tools (Intune, Purview, Azure, etc.) — or ready to learn them without fear.
Detail-oriented — you notice the little things that keep big problems away.
Communicate clearly and work well with others (yes, even on a Monday morning).
Reliable, punctual, and consistent — you’re the one people can count on.
Comfortable handling repetitive tasks without zoning out or drifting into another dimension.
Work Schedule
Full-time or part-time — we can make it work based on your availability and our current projects.
Flexible hours are the norm, with occasional evenings or weekends when big rollouts call for all hands-on deck.
What’s in it for you?
Hands-on experience with modern IT management tools and processes — the good stuff you actually want on your résumé.
A supportive team that’s got your back (and your inbox).
Room to grow your skills and your career — we invest in people, not just devices.
If you’re motivated, curious about IT, and ready to learn — all from the comfort of your own workspace — we’d love to have you join our growing remote team.
