IIROC has now published an update to their AML Guidance with an effective date of June 1st, 2020 to be in place. This is great news, as it will remove the need to collect clients’ citizenship, occupation and employment information and reduce the burden from collecting identification to attaining a “reasonable belief of identity” of these persons.
